Why manipur is called the mini korea of india | the fact of the mini korea of india

         Today i am going to talk about Manipur Manipur is called the Mini Korea of India so before i start the article i will give a brief introduction about Manipur.

         Manipur is a state which is located in the north east india. Manipur is connected with Assam on the west, Nagaland on the north and Mizoram on the south. The languages spoken in Manipur are english and manipuri. so among manipuri languages there are varieties of different different manipuri languages. so like there are plenty of different manipuri languages spoken.

         Manipur is called the mini korea of India the reason behind the title 'the mini korea of india' is because manipur had a ban imposed on the hindi channels and tv shows by the Revolutionary People's Front. the prime source of entertainment for the people at that junction was korean movies , korean dramas and korean music shows which was supplied via pirated dvds and cds. and these dvds and cds cost around 100-200 rupees , which made the access and popularity of kpop even mroe widespread in Manipur. with the advent of Korea's KBS World Arirang TV channel.Manipur soon gained the title of 'Mini Korea'.

        The influence of korean culture still continues in Manipur since 17 years after the ban of hindi films and tv channels. Manipur is a home to more than 200 ethnic group , each with their unique cultural transitions and their language. Its a fact that the people of north east india feels much more connected with the south east asian culture. more than the heart land of India.

      The reason behind it could be due to factors like physical resemblance , traditional knowledge systems and food habits. I must say that there are numerous of korean restuarants in the north east states like manipur , mizoram , nagaland , meghalaya assam and sikkim ,which fascinates with the korean way of life. Hair colours or the hair cuts of the north east people specially the youth are all influenced by the Korean Pop Stars. of todays generation. the outfit , hair styles and hair colours as well as the combination of music and dance makes it highly addictive.

The popularity of Korean pop music in north east india can be gauzed from the fact that the government of nagland brought them for its annual hornbill festival which is considered to be:one of the major festival in India. The kpop culture seems to be steadily gaining momentum in India and it seems that the korean wave will become a part of it. Besides Manipur , Mizoram and Nagaland comes in the stand for the popularity of Korean Culture and the kpop.
